New grant programme launched to raise awareness of the HPV vaccine
27 Nov 2024
Would you like to run an event or activity to help increase HPV vaccine awareness in your local community? If so, funding is available to you.
RM Partners is launching a grant programme offering up to £500 to local community and voluntary groups working in North West and South West London.
The funding is to support hosting an event or activity for your local community and spreading awareness of the benefits of the HPV vaccine for preventing cervical cancer and other cancers associated with high-risk HPV.
This programme is part of our cancer prevention strategy to increase HPV vaccine uptake in eligible school age children (from school year 8 and 9), girls up to age 25, and boys born after 1 September 2006, who have not been previously vaccinated.
The funding you receive can be used to help cover costs of an activity you have already planned for February to April 2025. Alternatively, you could plan a new event or activity. We are open to ideas about what format this might take.
In order for us to offer funding, the event or activity will need to provide an opportunity to share information about the HPV vaccine and to raise awareness amongst those eligible to receive it, or parents/carers who might need to consent to somebody receiving the vaccine (e.g. via school). RM Partners will provide you with the tools to do this by hosting an online training session and supplying printed/online awareness materials.
Applications are now closed.

- Care leavers
- Ethnic minority groups
- Gypsy, Roma and Traveller
- Home-schooled children
- Looked after children
- People with learning disabilities
- Specific groups experiencing poorer access to healthcare or from at risk populations, such as those living in areas of deprivation in North West and South West London
The closing date for applications was Wednesday 18 December 2024. Your application will be reviewed and you will be notified of the outcome by Friday 3 January 2025. All events must be completed between 3 February and 18 April 2025.
We can provide a range of materials and resources you can share during your event or activity.
You will need to let us know how you plan to share information and resources during your event. For example, if it’s a community youth session, you could hold a talk about having the HPV vaccine and the importance of it in preventing some cancers, and signposting to where and how they can get the vaccine depending on the age of those you are talking to.
We would also like you to collect feedback and information from the people at your event, so please consider this when planning your activity/event. We will be asking you to capture insights and feedback, and an evaluation form will be provided ahead of time.
- We will provide all the resources you might need in the form of printed materials and in some alternative languages, or provide signposting to relevant information online.
- There will be an online training session to help you understand the key messages and potential barriers around having the HPV vaccine. This training session is due to take place w/c 27 January 2025 (date and time TBC) and attendance will be a requirement of the funding.
- Social media templates will be made available to help promote your event if required.
- We will provide the evaluation and insight templates to support you in capturing the key themes emerging from your event/activities.
